ABSTRACT
The challenges faced by students in Nigerian Universities are increasing. The need to curb some of these challenges has motivated the researcher to design an online project and assignment submission management system. Students face the challenge of meeting the deadline for assignment submission and also the cost of printing hard copies of paper necessitated this research work. The system allows students to submit assignments or projects online to various lecturers and supervisors who have access to the system for grading from anywhere in the world. Before the submission, the student needs to update their progress to the system and the lecturer able to view the progress online and make comments. OPAS will provide an online discussion, document sharing for student and lecturer. Any project or assignment that is behind schedule, the system will send an alert to the student and notify the status. The impact of the system to students, lecturers and universities cannot be over emphasized and are discussed. The system will help students to upload their assignments and projects online and have their supervisors assist them if necessary.
