Abstract

 This study sought to examine impact   of audio visual aids in teaching business studies and students’ students academic performance in business studies secondary schools in Bwuari Local Government area. The specific objectives that guided the study we to examine if the use of audio visual aids has any significant impact in teaching business studies in  Bwari local government area, to investigate if the use of audio visual aids  has any significance impact on students’ academic performance in business studies in Bwari local government area and to examine if there are any challenges  associated with the used of audio visual in teaching and learning of business studies in Brwari local government area. A survey research design was employed. The population for the study covered  26 business studies teachers and 10722 business studies students which is 10748 business studies teachers and students.  A sample 370 respondents out of which 26 were business studies teachers and 344 were business studies students. This sample size was considered bases on Krejcie and Morgan population and sample size table and derived according to the formula. It was revealed from the study that the used of audio visual aids has a significant impact in teaching business studies in  Bwari local government area, the used of audio visual aids has a significance impact on students’ academic performance in business studies in Bwari local government area and there were several challenges associated with the used of audio visual in teaching and learning of business studies in Brwari local government area. the researcher suggested that government and schools authorities should make adequate provisions for audio visual aids such as computers projectors loud speakers etc. to schools in Bwari local government area. Government and school authorities should provide adequate learning environment suitable for the implementation of audio visual aids in class room for teaching and learning and that Teachers should be train on the uses and implementation of audio visual aids in schools among others.
