BACKGROUND OF STUDY

Motorcycle crush is a violent collision of one or more open-seated motor-powered vehicle with two wheels, known as motorcycle, which is more likely to result in serious injuries, death and property damage. The collision could be between a motorcycle and a vehicle, a fixed object, a human being or another motorcycle. Victims are usually rushed to the nearest health center with injuries like head injuries, fracture, amputated limbs, musculoskeletal pains and other injuries, and are attended-to as emergency. Other victims are brought in dead or even die on the spot.

 Motorcycle crush is caused by various factors which include the following;

i. Bad weather, like Rain, fog among others: In case there is rain, the roads are usually slippery which causes accidents. There are also road accidents occurring due to fog where there is improper visibility.

ii. Irresponsible and careless group rides: There are group of friends who prefer riding bikes in group. A single mistake or careless ride done by any one friend in the riding span, can cause motorcycle accidents within them. For example, in case one friend is riding the motorcycle at a particular pace and suddenly gives a break, the person riding behind him is obviously going to hit the front biker.

iii. Drunk motorcyclist: There are cases where the motorcyclist is over drunk while riding, which leads to the motorcycle accidents.
