Road inventory is the compilation of information about the state and condition of the road system. This study was carried out to collect road data and analyze selected road facilities within the University of Ibadan to serve as an inventory for future purpose. This was done to help resolve the issue of insufficient information about the road facilities within the University premises.
In this project a survey of the roads was done which involved the use of photo/video log system and the Global Positioning System for capturing the road data. The road facilities on the lookout in this study, were streetlight, lay-by culvert, road median, walkway, drainage, road sign, trash bin, and zebra crossing. The Road Maintenance and Quality Index model was used to determine the state of the road pavement. This was to achieve a composite index for the explanation and classification of the road condition into four categories of very poor, poor, good, very good road condition. The Road Maintenance and Quality Index ranges between 0 - 1 and the nearer the score to 1, the better the road condition.
