The study was conducted for distribution of total and exchangeable K from different cropping system, yam farm, fallow land and eucalyptus plantation, the sample was collected from the teaching and research farm of the Federal University of Technology at the depth of 0-15cm on the soil surface. The soil samples were collected from nine points along three random sites, the soil where then bulked together. The physical and chemical analysis as carried out, the total and exchangeable potassium was also determined. The textural class of the soil is sandy loam, the pH of the soils ranged from slightly acidic to moderately acidic. It was statistically analysed that the total potassium was higher than the exchangeable potassium irrespective of the land use.
