ABSTRACT
The research topic of the study was domestic violence against women and girl child education in Bundibugyo district Bwamba county. The problem was retardation of girl child education in Bundibugyo district Bwamba county. The purpose of the study is to establish how domestic violence against women has retarded girl child education in Bundibugyo district, Bwamba county Bubandi sub county .. The objectives of the study were; to establish the extent to which socio-demographic factors of the victims influence the occurrence of domestic violence, to determine the extent to which alcohol use influences domestic violence among women, to establish the solution to domestic violence problem among women so as to improve girl child education in Bwamba county Bundibugyo district. The research used both qualitative and quantitative research design·s for example Case study design descriptive con-elation and cross sectional designs. The findings of this study indicated the following; the socio-demographic factors such as cultural factors in terms of religious cultures have an effect on the domestic violence and impacts on girl child, alcohol use influences domestic violence among women in families and hence affecting girl child education, child man·iage, and Borderline personality disorder, the solutions to these problems include reduction on alcohol and drug use, sensitization of girls on peer groups, providing employment opportunities to women, among others. In conclusion, domestic violence has affected girl child Education as it is associated with poor living standards among women and children especially girls in Bubandi ·sub-county, Bwamba county, Bundibugyo district. Bubandi sub county, Bwamba county, Bundibugyo district recommends the following towards the effects of domestic violence, there should be reduction on alcohol and drug abuse, provide employment opportunity to women, reduce societal factors that supp011 domestic violence, cultural advancement, creating awareness on human rights, strengthen institutions like policy makers, judicial systems, which deal in implementation of the law towards reducing domestic violence.
