ABSTRACT
Environmental can be said to be conditions and influences of a particular area. Environment can be physical or non-physical environment, material or non-material environment. A lot of activities take place in the environment. Most activities are for the development of mankind, some as a fund and some are very dangerous to the development of man. Most of these environmental activities involved a lot of risk like Agricultural, extractive industrial activities etc. This research work is aimed at viewing the various types of risk that arises in environment and the impact of insurance industry in the management of such risks. The methodology used in obtaining data was questionnaire and valid of hypotheses were tested using the Z test statistic. On the course of this work, it was discovered that a lot of activities take place in the environment such as agricultural activities, extractive and other industrial activities and conclude that insurance industry play a lot of role in environmental risk management and recommended that all the operators of various classes of insurance depending on the type of activities to reduce the risk that may arise from there.
