ABSTRACT
The project work is the impact of non-oil export to Nigerian economy between the period of 1980-2010. The main objective of the study is to find out the extent of the contribution of non-oil export sector to the Nigerian economy. In examining this researcher formulated null hypothesis (HO) stating that non-oil sector has no significant impact on Nigeria’s economic growth in Nigeria. By evaluating this, the researcher adopted econometrics by applying ordinary least square (OLS) techniques. It was found out that non-oil sector has significant impact on the Nigeria’s economic growth. Also, non-oil sector has positive relationship   with Nigeria gross domestic product. The researcher therefore concludes that non-oil sector has been playing a vital role towards stimulating the economic growth. Hence, the researcher recommended that there is need for government to promote non-oil export promotion strategies, like granting tax concession to export- oriented industries so as to boast the level of exportation and consequently economic growth in Nigeria.
