ABSTRACT
 The topic of this study is the effect of organizational structure on workers performance in Nigeria financial institutions. A case study of first bank Nigeria PLC. The objectives of the study on workers performances, the effect of financial position in the  effective functioning of the structure and to find  out the reason for authority overlap, frictions and misunderstanding in organizations without well defined structure. The research made use  of the Yaro Yamene’s method to select the sample  size 92 employees. The method used for collection of data was personal interviews as structured questionnaires. The data collected were analsyed with simple statistical and percentages methods. At the end of the analysis, the following discovers were made:
- the organizational structure affects  the effective performance of workers in an organization.
-  That too many directors received from different executive directors, central bank and board of directors always confuse branch management.
- That will defined structures discourages authority overlap, frictions and misunderstanding in an organizations.
Therefore, the researcher recommends that the organization structure of first bank should be redesigned to include to entire functional framework of the organization. Also the creation of more branches and training of workers for increased effectiveness  and productivity.
