Abstract

Time and again, human beings get bored and always need to find a way out of it. Activities like recreation and events are the key in addressing such issues because they provide entertainment for people after a long day/week of stress. Events are a major tool to the economic development of a country. Such events include; concerts, movies in cinemas, sports galas etc. However, the public has to be notified about these events in the best efficient, effective and the most convenient way. The core function of this system is to create awareness to the public of these events and also enable its members to purchase tickets for their preferred events online whenever and wherever while also being updated on the latest events. 1.2 Backgmund to the study At the moment, Different companies organizing different events use the media like televisions, radios and posters to advertise their events. Access to these events is by use of a ticket which is sold in different places like supermarkets, petrol stations, beauty shops etc. Most of the times, people are not aware of these events since there is no reliable way of advertising. For example, for a movie screening in a cinema, a person has to physically go to the venue to find out which movies are showing and at what times. In purchasing these tickets, people have to queue up which is a very tedious and time consuming process. ln some cases, people are not even aware of whether the tickets are already sold out already.
