Time has come for people to know the implications of engaging non-professional builders in building construction works. The stoppage of engaging non-professional  builders would reduce or even stop  the event such as shoddy works, use of inappropriate materials/personnel’s and abandonment of project, cost overrun, and inadequate supervision/incompetence and incessant collapse of buildings. This project therefore delved into the imperative of engaging professional builders in building construction works (A case study Onitsha). It embodies 6 research questions and 10 item structures questionnaires which helped inn getting useful information, literature review of relevant studies and commentaries, methodology and instruments of research used. Presentation of data, data analysis, conclusion and recommendations were made based on the findings.
