ABSTRACT

This
project studies the comparative analysis of private and public road transport
operations. A conscious effort is made to measure the impact of both means of
transport, their efficiency and characteristics on the road traffic congestion.
Data both secondary and primary on the performance of both private and public
transport operators on major road networks connecting the capital city of Imo
State and other major cities are collected. A statistical analysis of the data
is being carried out on comparisons scales. The result shows that efficient
management of the public road transport operation will greatly reduce the road
traffic congestion on our roads.
