ABSTRACT
Many organizations encounter various problems in communication within and outside the organization.  Due to this fact, the researcher deemed it necessary to research into various communication techniques/system, methods and channels of communication adopted by Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc in the achievement of an organizational performance.
The aims of this write-up was actually to determine the adequacy of communication system in Power Holding Company of Nigeria and also to ascertain the possible barriers, that would hinder the effectiveness of the system which in turn effects the organization performance.  In carrying out this research, review of related authors’ works was actually on barriers, principle and importance of communication.
To ascertain the people opinion on the adequacy and the possible communication barriers, there would be no other way of determining the opinion of different individuals rather than through questionnaires, oral interview and observation.     
From the questionnaires, presentation of analysis and interpretation of data were drawn, showing that there are certain communication barriers that hinder organization performances.  Some recommendations were then deduced from the findings which the researcher feels that if management adopts it may improve the role of communication system in Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
