ABSTRACT
The research was a survey work aimed at identifying the role of commercial banks in industrial development of Nigeria to achieve this objectives, the project is divided into five chapters.
Chapter one deals with the introduction, this discussed among other things the back ground of the study statement of problem, objectives of the study significant of the study, scope of the study, limitation and definition of terms.
Chapter two this is the theoretical frame work of the project .this chapter is divided into two subdivision here in, the researchers reviewed a lot of related literatures on the topic and arranged the sub_ topic in away to easy understanding by anyone who come across it.
Chapter three this is the research design and methodology, It discusses, the produces which the researchers adopted in carrying out this research. Due to the nature of project writing in ND level, the researches mainly used the secondary data.
Chapter four those data with the summary of findings which revealed among other things that: -
(1) The commercial banks extended its activities into hotel business and tourism project of international standard and finally , it lowered the required minimum Capital stadium of the project it finances from N20,000 to N 10,000 and July1970 the federal government director at commercial bank including other banks including other banks should grant not less than 80% (percent) of its loan to indigenous business provided that application are considered purely on a commercial basis.
(2)The law prohibiting commercial banks to take equity participation in than from establishing industries should be modified to make them contribute actively the nation’s industrial development
CHAPTER FIVE this is the recommendation and conclusions having gone through the entire write up, the researchers come out with some suggested solutions and recommendation which government will adopt to enhance effective and efficient roles of commercial banks in industrial development of the country.
