ABSTRACT

The study was carried out to ascertain the Impact of Trade Globalization on the Nigeria Economy with the years under consideration being 1986 to 2016. The study seeks to examine the effect of Trade Globalization on the Economy of Nigeria. To achieve this, data was sourced from the World Development Index 2016 and the CBN Statistical Bulletin 2016. The data in return was subjected to econometric analysis and was run using the Eviews9.0 statistical software. Auto-regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) was employed to analyze the impact of the independent variables (balance of payment, trade openness and foreign direct investment) on the dependent variable (gross domestic product). The result of the analysis shows that economic policies of the government have great implications on Nigeria earnings from trade globalization, and how it affects Nigeria’s economy.
