This patient was transferred from accident and emergency to ward 4 (CUT) on 29th August, 2009 and was booked for emergency exploratory laparatomy due to perforated duodenal ulcer under Dr Nwajiobi and his team. There  was no history of  epilepsy but takes up to 5-7 bottles of Alcohol drink (preferably beer) and 5-6 sticks of cigarette daily. Nil history of allergy.

The patient drinking habit has lasted for 10 (ten) good years now

I developed interest in the patient because of his condition.

This will help me to study in details the causes, palhophysiology as well as the management of peptic ulcer and apply in nursing practice. I used the letter “J” to represent my patient’s name so as to maintain the confidentially of the information given by the patient.
