OGB FARMS is subsidiary of OGB INT’L CONCEPT LTD. A Limited Liability Company specializing in Integrated Aquaculture Farms and the production of Agro and Allied products.The company was incorporated on the 1st of July 2014: RC 1201190. The company is expanding its business to include fish processing and storage, using the cold room method for storage and fish smoking kilns for processing of fishes.

Harvested fishes require specialized post harvest treatment to preserve its nutritional quality and general acceptability among consumers, appropriate temperature and relative humidity for their processing and storage, which most of the existing fish processing companies in Akwaibom State lacks. The project will adopt modern technological approach that guarantees improved quality of fishes, which would have otherwise perish or deteriorate.

The project is designed in such a way that it will be able to store multiple products, stored in different compartments of the unit, where relative temperatures for respective products will be maintained. The major clientele of this business will be the local trading and marketing units of fishes and other perishable foods in Eket local government area of Akwa ibom State. The location was strategically chosen because at the time the feasiblty studies there were no cold room in the whole of Eket LGA . The project will further aim at processing and storing fishes even during off-seasons. The project will ultimately assist the clientele in maintaining market price equilibrium throughout the year for fishes.

The proposed Cold Storage facility has a maximum storage capacity of 3 tonnes and a capacity – 200 bags of fish. The fish smoking kilns has a maximum capacity to smoke fish of 200kg to 300kg wet weight. OGB FARMS is proposed to be located at Eket Local area of Akwaibom State, Nigeria. The region has access to all public amenities including water electricity and telecommunication facilities.

The fish processing kilns and the cold room needs ₦800,000 to fund start up expenses and another ₦4,950,000 to fund our start-up asset — a total of ₦5,750,000 in funding requirements. The facility is expected to be completed in period of 6 months. 8 skilled and semi skilled workers will be required to run the cold storage  and smoking premises, besides creating indirect job opportunities for many others.
