ABSTRACT

Various technological and social developments have been reshaping almost all aspects of human life. Some of the knowledge, skills, abilities, competencies and personal characteristics that were necessary for life in previous centuries have now become irrelevant, while others have become critical. The majority of these changes are associated with the proliferation of new technologies, particularly Computer Programming. The capacity to apply ICT in various areas of human life (usually defined as Computer programming) has become an important contributor to human wellbeing and the prosperity of technological development. Enhancement of computer programming is the top priority of the social, economic, and educational policies of many international organizations and individual countries. This research involves making a qualitative analysis of the computer programming: its rationale, effects and socio economic benefits on technological development. Quantitative analysis was employed using the mean, standard deviation and correlation to analysis the respondent’s view. The statistical tool adopted for this research work is SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences), and regression analysis shall be employed to study the relationship between the dependent variable and independent variable. Other statistical test to be used involves Student test and Fisher’s test.

Fisher's exact test is a statistical significance test used in the analysis of contingency tables. Although in practice it is employed when sample sizes are small, it is valid for all sample sizes.
