BREWERIES LIMITED 9TH MILE CORNER ENUGU
PROPOSAL

Product distribution is very important in medium and large scale business or companies. Manufacturers must decide on the best way to store, handle and move good and services so that they are available to customers at high time and place.
Therefore manufacturers typically need to employ the services of distribution information system so that distribution effectiveness will have a major on customers satisfaction and company costs.
This research work is a study of the distribution system of the Nigeria Breweries Limited 9th mile corner Enugu. A handful of problems was discovered because of the manual distribution in use in the company. This has almost destroyed good efforts. I stressed the need for good distribution and introduction the use of computers and the installation of distribution information software system that will work with data transmission system interconnected by telephone lines to the existing C.D. P system of a computer. These is also a simple program in this work that will help the management of the company to quickly transmit relevant information to the manufacturing plant on receipt of a customer orders, so that they will be able to get their order quickly.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
The rapid growth in technology have compelled man-kind to look inward finding alternative means of accomplishing most his strenuous task.
This discovery in technology showed that the capabilities of a computer, an electronic digital device has the ability to accept, process, store and output data and information when needed with maximum speed and accuracy.

1.1    STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
After studying the present distribution system of the Nigeria Bottling company PLC, I discovered a lot of problems as a result of its manual distribution system. they are as follows.
(a)      Inability to meet customers emergency needs.
(b)      Irregular supplies, transportation made, plant houses and store locations.
Just as marketing concept is receiving increased recognition, business firms are paying attention to the distribution concept. Distribution is an area of potentially, high cost savings and improved customer satisfaction. When order processors, warehouses, planners, managers and transportation manager make decisions, they one another’s cost and ability to handle demand. Physical distribution concept calls for treating all these decision within unified frame work. The task is to design a distribution system that will minimize the total cost of providing a desired customers services.
(c)      Insufficient drinks for customers of excessive drinks.
(d)      Long hours of search to get customers
(e)      High distribution costs.
(f)       Time wastage.
Due to the problems mentioned above, there is need for computerization of the stock and product distribution system for the NBC PLC so as to keep up to the present standard.
1.2    PURPOSE OF STUDY
One of the problem of the NBC PLC is inability to meet the needs or demands as a result of their manual method of distribution.
The purpose of this study is to design a system that will be more efficient and accurate in distribution processes. This will help the management in quick processing of the order steps using on-line computers interconnected with telephone lines. This will be able to transmit relevant information to the computer located at the manufacturing plant to gain customers satisfaction.
1.3    AIMS AND OBJECTIVES.
The aim of every manufacturing & distribution company is to maximize customers services and at the same time maximize profits not sale. The objective of this study is aimed computerizing the stock and product distribution department of the Nigeria Bottling company plc so that it can assist the managers to manage suppliers to final consumers.

It is equally assumed the customers will have access to leased for placement of orders.
