Energy Audit, Optimisation and Management of Liquefied Natural Gas Plants with Renewable Energy Resources Around the Plant: A Case Study of Brass LNG, Brass Island, Nigeria

  • Type:Project
  • Pages:33
  • Format:Microsoft Word
(Electrical Engineering Project Topics & Materials)

The energy generation and power consuming loads at Brass LNG facility located in Brass Island, Bayelsa State Nigeria were analyzed and compared with expected demand changes and means of minimizing cost and greenhouse gas emission were also proffered with wind and solar energy penetration into the overall power mix . The wind and solar hybrid power generation system reduced the fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emission and noise pollution by the generators and turbine by relieving some of the power plants or reducing their sizes. Economic cost benefit analysis and recovery periods projections made showed that system is economically viable and technically feasible with low recovery time.

An energy audit on the Brass Liquified Natural Gas plant at Brass Island former Agip facility was carried. The average offshore windspeed and wave return periods for 12months  were measured for their wind and wave energy potentials. Also,  the solar insolation for the location was collected for a 12month period. A pilot design based on... Continue Reading
The aim of the project is to design a renewable energy system that can meet the current and projected electricity demands for the island of Great Cumbrae. This should be achieved by providing a stable electricity output and the meet the calculated total annual base load supply of 11.29 GWh. In addition to providing a stable supply of electricity,... ABSTRACT The concept of Superconductors in relation to energy gap was considered in this study. The occurrence of the Meissner effect indicates that superconductivity cannot be understood simply as the idealization of perfect conductivity in classical physics . The major aim of this project is to study the concept of energy gap in super conductors... Continue Reading
ABSTRACT Hydrogen is an energy carrier that can transform our fossil fuel dependent economy into a hydrogen economy; t can provide an emission free transportation fuel. Hydrogen has the highest combustion energy per batter relative to any other fuel. It is more efficient on a weight basis than fuels used currently. It offers 2-3 times more energy... Continue Reading
