This research work has investigated the Role of Small –scale industry in the economic development of Nigeria, with particular references to Enugu State. ( A case Study of Uncle Joe Bakery Industries Limited).
The objective of this work among others was to find out those roles played by small-scale industries in the economic development of Nigeria. The problems they encounter, how to proper suggestions to solve these problems.
The research work was carried out using a structured questionnaire, simple percentage and findings. They include scope and nature of small-scale industries, sources of find available to small-scale industries, problems militating against small scale industries, the roles and contributions of small scale industries in economic development of Nigeria, and government policies towards small-scale industries.
This research should not therefore, have come at a better time than now because it will provide an opportunity for any person who may read it, to appreciate what small scale industries are, the expected problems a new entrant may encounter and finally proffer possible solutions to the problems.
