ABSTRACT
The study examined the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Nigeria over the period 1980 to 2010. The study employed multiple regressions in analysis, using the ordinary least square (OLS) regression technique. The result at this revealed that FDI impacted positively on the growth of the Nigeria economy over the period under study. Europe and the far east. The study examines an analysis of the impact of foreign direct investment on Nigeria’s economic growth over the period of 1980-2010. The Nigerian government needs to come up with more friendly economic policies and business environment which
will attracts foreign investment into virtually all the sectors of the economy.
The point in that is absolutely nothing wrong in foreign capital as a source of financing development if such finds our property utilized and directed as areas where they will yield reasonable benefits to the economy. It is forth handily for instance to borrow finance postage projects that would finance postage projects that would yield little or no returns and
thus locatable of sources and liquidity the loans. Based on this, the study recommended the provision of adequate infrastructure and policy framework that will be conducive for doing business in Nigeria, so as to attract the inflow of FDI necessary to stimulate growth.
